Our approach to AI
AI is changing the tools we work with, not the values we work from.
At Kunlabora, we don’t see AI as a silver bullet, nor as a threat. It’s a powerful tool that helps our Kunlaborants work better, learn faster and make a greater impact. We embrace those possibilities with curiosity, but always consciously and with the same focus on quality, collaboration and humanity.

Curious, but not blindly so
We experiment with new applications, learn what works and share that knowledge across our teams. But we don’t use technology simply because it’s new or because everyone is talking about it. We want to understand what a tool does, where it adds value and what risks come with it.
That’s why we take a controlled approach: first we learn and test, then we consider applying it more broadly. Especially when AI becomes part of software or processes that are important to our clients.
AI empowers people
For us, AI is part of every Kunlaborant’s toolkit. It can support us in writing and reviewing code, speed up research, help structure documentation or make analyses more efficient. But technology doesn’t replace the expertise, context or responsibility of our people.
We invest in AI to give our people more possibilities and help them make a greater impact, not to do the same work with fewer people.
Because working faster doesn’t automatically mean working better. We consciously choose quality over speed and collaboration over individual productivity.
The way we build software is thoughtful and structured. During the development process, we do not avoid difficulties and we communicate openly about them. That way, we can look for a solution together. We have a shared passion for software development and take pride in our work. This is reflected, among other things, in the high quality we deliver every time.
What does our approach look like in practice?
The way we work evolves along with technology. What you can expect from Kunlabora doesn’t.

We remain responsible for what we deliver.
AI can support us, but the final responsibility stays with us. Our Kunlaborants assess the output, safeguard its quality and can explain the decisions that were made.
You work with people who understand your context.
AI doesn’t replace conversations, collaboration or critical thinking. Your points of contact remain Kunlaborants who take the time to understand your organisation, challenges and goals.
We use AI where it adds value.
Not every task, project or problem needs AI. We make deliberate choices about where technology helps us deliver better work and where other solutions are more appropriate.
We learn together.
New insights don’t stay within one team or with one person. We share what works, but also what doesn’t. That way, we build knowledge as an organisation and our clients benefit from what we learn.
Thoughtful and controlled
New AI applications don’t simply find their way into our projects. We first examine how they work, what data they process and what impact they may have. When we use AI as part of a collaboration, we make transparent agreements about where and how it will be used.
That critical approach also applies to the tools themselves. Just like any other technology we use, AI applications are assessed within our information security and ISO 27001 procedures.
We handle client data with care and choose solutions that give us sufficient control over how information is processed and used.
Technology evolves. Our foundation stays the same.
Our responsibility doesn’t stop with the AI tool we use. Where data ends up, what infrastructure applications run on and what dependencies we create are all part of the technological choices we make.
This ties in with our broader view on digital autonomy: making conscious choices about technology, data and infrastructure and, where relevant, considering European alternatives that offer greater control.
The AI tools we use today will look different tomorrow. That’s simply part of technology. That’s why we don’t build our approach around a single tool or trend. We stay curious, keep learning and continue to think critically about what technology can mean for our work and for our clients.
AI can make our Kunlaborants stronger. But ultimately, it’s our expertise, responsibility and collaboration that make the difference.
Curious what this approach means for your project?
We’d be happy to tell you how we use AI today, and where we consciously choose not to use it.
